Yucts Travel Android App User Guide
The Android version is still in development and testing and has not been officially released. The following describes the currently planned features; the actual screens, availability, and details may change, and some features are not yet enabled.
Welcome to Yucts Travel — an Android app that combines travel content, trip-planning tools, a community forum for travelers, and an AI assistant. This guide explains each feature and how to use it, noting the differences between the Android and iOS versions as well as the parts that are still in development and not yet enabled.
This app uses a native Android UI and a native Android bottom navigation bar to switch between the main tabs.
The Five Main Tabs (Bottom Navigation Bar)
At the bottom of the app is a native Android bottom navigation bar with five tabs (not a navigation drawer):

Cross-Tab Features
- Unified search — Home search finds both on-site blog articles and forum content together.
- Bookmarks and offline — Articles and forum threads can be bookmarked; reading history and offline content are gathered on the bookmarks page.
- AI Travel Assistant — Ask travel questions and plan trips; supports cloud answers and on-device Gemini Nano offline answers. See AI Assistant & Translation.

- Cross-device sync — You can enable trip sync in settings to sync travel data across devices. See Privacy & Permissions.
- Home-screen widgets (trip countdown) and scheduled trip reminders. See Notifications & Widgets.
Key Android Differences (In Development)
The following are how the Android version is currently implemented and which items are not yet enabled; please use this as your reference:
- Sign-in: offers username and password, two-step verification, and web-based social sign-in. There is no one-tap Google sign-in yet (planned).
- Map: uses OpenStreetMap; coordinates must be entered manually, with no GPS location and no place search.
- Passes: presented as QR cards, not Google Wallet passes.
- AI: supports cloud AI and on-device Gemini Nano (requires a compatible device).
- Widgets: a home-screen trip countdown + a forum unread badge.
- Notifications: uses a push service, and the Android 13+ notification permission is not yet actively requested in the app (planned); push delivery is also still pending backend configuration.
- Yucts Plus subscription: integrated via Google Play purchase, but Android-side purchase verification is not yet enabled, so you currently can't activate Plus on Android (in development).
- Profile: currently read-only; editing is not yet supported.
- Forum albums / resources: currently only a browsable list.
- No currency conversion tool.
Getting Started
- You can browse most content as a guest without registering; forum interaction, push notifications, and some sync features require signing in.
- Sign-in methods include username and password and social accounts (web-based login).

This app requires Android 8.0 (API 26) or later, which covers the vast majority of devices in use. In-app language switching uses the system's per-app language setting only on Android 13 or later; on Android 12 or older devices you currently can't change the display language from within the app, so please use your phone's system language settings instead. On-device AI requires a device that supports Gemini Nano (such as Pixel 8 or later and other flagships); when unsupported, it automatically falls back to the cloud or local templates.
