Forum Community

Under development — not yet released

The Android version is still in development and testing and has not been officially released. The following describes the currently planned features; the actual screens, availability, and details may change, and some features are not yet enabled.

The "Forum" tab is the community where travelers connect, with content coming directly from the yucts.com forum. Guests can browse boards and thread lists, see the top portion of a thread's preview, and use search; reading the full content and interacting (posting, replying, reacting, voting, private messages, bookmarks, following, reporting, translation, alerts) requires signing in.

Board Browsing​

  • Boards home: shows the board tree by category (including sub-boards), marking unread, discussion count, and reply count; after signing in, it provides quick links for alerts, subscriptions, members, private messages, albums, resources, and more.
  • Board thread list: paginated infinite scroll, prefix-tag filter chips, and pinned threads; after signing in, there's a "new thread" FAB at the bottom right.
  • Reading a thread: shows the thread info and posts (HTML body + attached images) and records it in your reading history; guests only see the preview and a sign-in prompt.

Posting and Interacting​

  • Start a new thread: enter a title and body in the compose dialog.
  • Reply: can attach image attachments (the photo picker), use stickers, with automatic draft saving and quoting (BBCode).
  • Edit / delete your own posts (subject to permissions).
  • React: tap to like; long-press to choose from 6 emoji, with optimistic updates.
  • Vote: supports single / multiple choice and a results bar chart.
  • Translate posts: you can translate a post into your system language and switch between showing the original / translation (sign-in required).
In Development
  • Prefix selection is not yet available when posting a thread.
  • Stickers are a common set.

Private Messages (Chat)​

  • A conversation list and details, replies, and starting a new conversation (created by username). Sign-in required.

Alerts (Notification Bell)​

  • Lists alerts such as @-mentions, replies, quotes, and reactions; you can mark unread, mark individually or all as read, and open the corresponding content. Sign-in required.

Members and Profiles​

  • Member roster: loaded with pagination, with local search.
  • User profiles: show stats, Follow / Unfollow, and Message (sign-in required).
  • Forum search supports keywords, recent searches, and prefix filtering; guests can use it too.

Subscribing to (Watching) Threads​

  • You can toggle Watch / Unwatch at the top of a thread and manage them in the "Watched" list.

Reporting​

  • You can report a thread or post: choose a reason chip, add details, and submit (rate-limited).

Android Differences and In-Development Items​

  • Albums / resources are currently only a browsable list, with no details, media grid, downloads, or uploads.
  • There's no ignore / block user feature.
  • Locking / pinning / moving / deleting others' posts isn't available (deletion is limited to your own posts).
