AI Assistant & Translation
AI Travel Assistant
Once you open the AI assistant, you can ask travel-related questions in natural language (itinerary planning, attractions, food, transport, accommodation, visas, exchange rates, culture, and more). The assistant focuses on travel topics and is best suited for planning trips and looking up travel information.
- A blank conversation shows a welcome card and example questions; tap an example or one of the "Quick Questions" chips below to insert it into the input box, or just type and send.
- Replies support Markdown (headings, lists, bold, links, etc.), and answers are streamed word by word.
- The assistant can proactively search the on-site blog articles and forum discussions to support its answers (RAG); tappable "Source" cards appear below the reply, indicating which search tools were used.
- After each message, 4–6 follow-up suggestions are dynamically generated based on your previous exchange.
- Press and hold any message to "Copy" or "Share."
AI Engine Modes
The top-right menu can switch the AI engine (the setting is remembered):
| Mode | Description | Where Data Goes |
|---|---|---|
| Automatic (cloud-first) | The default. Prefers the cloud (can search on-site articles), and automatically switches to on-device when offline | Mainly cloud; messages are sent to the server for processing |
| Cloud AI | Forces the cloud, with the best answer quality and on-site search | Messages are sent to the server for processing |
| On-Device (offline) | Forces the Apple Intelligence on-device model | Fully offline; conversations are never uploaded |
- On-device mode requires iOS 26 or later and a device that supports Apple Intelligence; when unsupported, a note appears at the top and you can use Cloud AI instead.
- The top banner honestly indicates where the current mode's data goes.
Credits and Sign-In
- When a guest wants to use Cloud AI, you'll first be prompted to sign in to your forum account (Cloud AI can pull on-site article sources and stream word by word). If you'd rather not sign in, you can switch to "On-Device (offline) AI" from the top-right menu and ask questions directly.
- Cloud AI has a daily conversation quota. When free users use up the day's quota, you're prompted that you can upgrade to Yucts Plus for 10× the daily quota and priority responses (upgrade under "Profile → Yucts Plus"); Yucts Plus members are also notified when they run out. If the server returns a reset time, you'll also be told when the quota resets.
Conversation History and Sync
- The "clock" icon at the top right opens your conversation history so you can continue a previous conversation.
- The same menu has a "Sync conversations to account" toggle (on by default):
- When on and signed in, conversations are automatically uploaded and saved, and you can review them in the history list.
- When off, conversations are kept only on the device and are not uploaded or saved.
- Conversation history is stored in the cloud and is saved and loaded only when signed in; guests can ask questions directly but no history is kept.
In cloud mode, your conversation content is transmitted to the AI service provider for processing. See Privacy & Permissions and the Privacy Policy.
AI Itinerary / Packing Generation
The "AI Itinerary / Packing" page can generate structured content and import it into your trip in one tap:
- Mode: Choose "Packing List" or "Day-by-Day Itinerary."
- Input conditions: Destination, season (spring / summer / autumn / winter, defaulting to the current season), number of days, number of people, and the trip to import into.
- After tapping "AI Generate," the results are listed (grouped by category or by day); check items individually, then "Import selected items":
- A packing list is imported as packing-list items; a day-by-day itinerary is imported as trip waypoints (and it attempts to use the destination name to locate the map coordinates).
- Generation method: By default, it uses the on-device Apple AI (free, private). After signing in, you can enable "Use online AI (more complete)," which references on-site articles to improve suggestions; if the online attempt fails, it automatically falls back to on-device, and if neither is available, it uses a built-in template.
Translation
The app can translate article titles and forum original posts.
Auto-translation
- Enable it under "Profile → Language → Auto-translate articles" (this option appears only on iOS 18 or later and supported devices, and is on by default).
- When enabled, titles and forum original posts that aren't in your system language are automatically translated into your language.
- If the required language pack isn't yet installed, the original text is shown silently (no download window pops up automatically); you can download the corresponding language pack in iOS system settings.
Manual translation (user-triggered)
- Within a forum thread or article, choose "Translate to…" from the top-right menu to pick a language; once translated, you can "Show Original."
- Currently, translation focuses on the original post; comments and replies are not within the scope of auto-translation.
Translation is performed mainly via Apple's on-device translation technology (on iOS 26 and later, long texts can use Apple Intelligence for higher quality); long-text translation may be unavailable on older iOS versions, in which case the original text is shown.
Camera Translation and Common Phrases
The travel tools also provide two translation utilities (both running on Apple's on-device technology):
- Camera Translation: Use the camera to recognize text in the frame in real time (menus, signs, labels); tap to capture and translate it into your language; unsupported devices can use manual input.
- Common Phrase Cards: Built-in situational cards for restaurant / accommodation / transport / shopping / emergency / greetings, providing local-language translation and pronunciation playback.
