Forum Community

The Forum tab is a community for travelers to connect, with content coming directly from the yucts.com forum. Guests can browse boards and thread lists and see the top portion of a thread's preview; reading the full body and comments, as well as any interaction (posting, replying, reacting, voting, private messages, bookmarking, subscribing, following, ignoring, reporting, searching), requires signing in. Tapping an action that requires signing in while signed out will bring up a sign-in/registration prompt.

Switching Content Modes

The personal menu at the top of the forum page can switch between five content modes:

Mode	Contents
Forum Boards	Board hierarchy, sub-boards, and thread lists (default)
Chat	The private message conversation list
Albums	A list of media albums; you can create a new album
Resources	A resource list; you can create a new resource
Members	The member roster (usually visible only to administrators)

When you switch modes, the view automatically scrolls back to the top so the result of the switch is clearly visible. Because of server permission limits, the Members roster is generally visible only to administrators.

Browsing Boards

• The boards page is displayed in a category → board → sub-board hierarchy, with sub-boards indented.
• Boards with unread content are marked with a red icon.
• Each board shows a summary of thread and reply counts.
• Inside a board, you'll see pinned threads (marked with a pin) and regular threads; scroll down to load more automatically.
• If a board has prefix labels, a label filter pill appears at the top, letting you see only threads with a given label.

Thread Lists and Detail

• Each thread shows the author's avatar, prefix label, title, tags (#hashtag), reply count, view count, and time.
• Prefix label colors try to match the website (per XF style colors), falling back to a stable color based on the label name when no match is found.
• Pinned threads show a pin; soft-deleted threads are shown with a strikethrough.
• Tapping a prefix pill opens that label's aggregation page, showing all threads with the same label.
• A guest entering a thread sees only the top-portion preview; the lower portion and comments are covered by a frosted-glass overlay with a sign-in prompt.
• The top of the thread detail shows a corresponding header based on the discussion type (Discussion / Q&A / Poll / Showcase).

Reactions and Thread Voting

After signing in, on a thread and each reply you can:

• React: Tap the heart to like; press and hold to choose another reaction (such as "Thanks"), and view the reaction summary and who reacted.
• Thread up/down votes: Threads that support up/down votes show up/down arrows and a score.
• Bookmark, Share (system share sheet, with the thread title and icon).
• Subscribe to thread: Tap the bell to choose "Alerts only" or "Alerts + Email."
• Translate: The top-right menu's "Translate to…" can translate the original post, with a "Show Original" option (on supported devices).
• Depending on your permissions, the top-right menu offers Edit / Feature / Pin / Close / Delete / Permanently Delete and more; any signed-in user can report.

Replying

• The reply box at the bottom lets you enter text and use the BBCode toolbar, @mentions, quote replies, and attachments.
• Tapping "Quote" on a reply wraps that content as a quote and inserts it into the reply box.
• Typing @ in the input box brings up a user autocomplete list; selecting one inserts a mention.
• Auto-save drafts: What you type is saved automatically; clearing it removes the draft automatically.
• If a thread is closed, you can't reply (moderators still can).
• In Q&A-type threads, the asker or a moderator can mark a reply as the answer.
• If a reply fails to send, the content is restored with a prompt to retry.

Posting a New Thread

Open the posting page from "Compose" at the bottom right of a board:

1. Choose a thread type: General Discussion / Feature Article / Poll / Q&A.
2. Choose a prefix if the board requires one; fill in the title, tags (comma-separated), body, and attachments.
3. Feature Article: The first uploaded image automatically becomes the cover.
4. Poll: Set the question, 2–20 options, votes per person, whether votes can be changed, whether non-voters can see results, and how many days until it closes automatically.
5. The title, body, and number of tags all have limit prompts (limits come from the forum settings).
6. Submit. If posting fails, all fields and the draft are kept, with a prompt to retry.

Thread type reference:

Q&A	A clear question, with the ability to mark the best answer

Voting

In a poll thread, vote with a single choice or multiple choices according to the rules (you'll be prompted when you reach the limit). When you've voted, or when you can't vote but are allowed to see results, a bar chart and vote counts for each option are shown; when the thread allows changing votes, you can "Change Vote" to choose again.

Composing Tools

• BBCode toolbar: Bold / italic / underline / strikethrough, headings (H1–H3), lists (bulleted / numbered), alignment (left / center / right), quote, code, spoiler, insert link, insert image, sticker, and preview.
• Stickers: Common emoji and the forum's custom stickers.
• Attachment sources: Photo library, camera, files (images / PDF).
• Before an image is uploaded, it is automatically compressed and re-encoded with EXIF (including GPS location) removed; file types are restricted by an allowlist, with a 20 MB limit per file.

Private Messages (Chat)

• "Chat" mode lists conversations, with unread ones marked by a red dot; you can show only starred conversations.
• "New Chat" at the bottom right lets you search for and add multiple recipients, and fill in a title and content.
• Conversations support attachments; opening one automatically marks it as read.
• The conversation menu lets you star, mark as read/unread; individual messages can be reported.

Notification Bell

• The notifications page lists alerts for @mentions, replies, quotes, reactions, new articles, and more.
• Switch between All / Unread; "Mark all as read" at the top right clears them all at once.
• Opening the notifications page automatically resets the unread count to zero; tapping a resolvable forum notification takes you directly to the corresponding post.
• An unread PM hint is shown at the top; tapping it switches to Chat.

Search

Open search via the magnifying glass at the top left of the forum page (requires signing in):

• Enter a keyword (at least 2 characters) and switch between Threads / Posts.
• Advanced conditions: Author account, board, and time range (Any / Past week / Past month / Past year).
• By default, marketing boards are excluded; you can turn this off manually to include marketing results.

My Subscriptions and Ignored List

• My Subscriptions : Manage subscribed threads and boards; switch between All / Threads / Boards; board subscriptions show the board name, with an envelope icon for those with email; swipe left to unsubscribe.
• Ignored List : Manage ignored users; you can unignore. Threads and replies from ignored users are automatically hidden.

Profile

A user profile has the following tabs:

• Personal Space, Latest Activity, Following (followers / following), Recent Messages, Media, Albums, Trophies, About.
• The header shows the avatar, identity badges (Admin / Moderator / VIP / Staff, with an avatar halo based on the role), title, location, and stats for messages, reaction score, trophies, and followers / following.
• When viewing someone other than yourself, you can: Message, Follow / Unfollow, Ignore / Unignore, and Report User.

Resources and Media Albums

• Resources: The detail page shows the version, download count, rating, review count, and changelog; those with permission can feature / unfeature.
• Media Albums: You can create albums; album thumbnails within an article or post can be tapped to open the album detail, rather than just enlarging a single image.

Account Settings

"Account Settings" in the forum page's personal menu lets you:

• Change your avatar (pick from the library or take a photo) or remove it.
• Edit your custom profile fields (such as social accounts).
• Set your notification preferences: site announcement emails, new PM email/push, whether to show others' signatures, and the auto-subscribe method for threads you post or reply to.

To change your password, email, and privacy settings, please use the forum website.

Reporting

You can report threads, replies, users, or private messages: choose a reason, add details (up to 2000 characters), and submit. There's a daily limit on reports (10 per day).
