Getting Started

First-Launch Onboarding

The first time you open the app, you'll see 4 onboarding pages:

  1. Discover travel inspiration — Curated highlights from yucts.com and travelers around the world.
  2. Plan your perfect trip — Map visualization, packing lists, and Lock Screen Live Activity countdowns.
  3. Record every journey — Multi-currency expense tracking, a travel photo timeline, mood journals, and trip export.
  4. AI assistant + traveler community — AI trip planning, real-time forum questions, and push reminders.

How to use it:

  • Swipe left or right to change pages.
  • Tap Next at the bottom right to go forward, or Skip at the bottom left to exit immediately.
  • On the last page, tap Start Exploring to enter the app.

Onboarding appears only once, on the first launch.

Choose a Layout

After the onboarding, the app will ask you to pick a layout before you reach the main screen. The layout determines what goes in the 2nd and 3rd tabs, so you can choose the one that best fits how you use the app:

  • Travel — Focused on the travel hub and the explore map (Tab 2 = Travel Hub, Tab 3 = Explore / Activity Wall).
  • Marketing — The classic layout, balancing marketing deals and content (Tab 2 = Travel Map, Tab 3 = Marketing offers).
  • Community — Focused on forum interaction (Tab 2 = Feed, Tab 3 = Chat private messages).

Your choice is remembered; you can change it anytime under "Profile → Layout." The Home, Forum, and Authors tabs are the same across all layouts.

Guest vs. Signed In

You can use the app right away as a guest, without registering. The differences are as follows:

FeatureGuestSigned In
Browse articles, forum thread lists, search, author pages
Travel tools (trips, expenses, checklists, photos, journals, etc.)✅ (stored locally / in your iCloud)
Posting, replying, reacting, voting, private messages, bookmarks, following, reporting
Push preferences (subscriptions and Do Not Disturb), forum alerts, and PM notifications
AI conversation history, cross-device account, signed-in device management

Actions that require signing in will automatically bring up the sign-in screen (or prompt you with "Sign in now"). For sign-in methods, see Account & Sign-In.

Appearance Mode

Under Home → compass icon at top left (Profile) → Appearance, the Appearance Mode option lets you choose:

  • Automatic (follows the system)
  • Light
  • Dark

Changes apply instantly.

Language

In the Language section of your profile page:

  • The app's interface language follows the iOS system language. Tapping Language Settings opens iOS system settings so you can adjust it.
  • Supported interface languages: Traditional Chinese (Taiwan), English, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
  • You can enable Auto-translate articles to automatically translate forum/blog content based on your system language (this feature requires an iOS version that supports on-device translation, and won't appear if unsupported). See AI Assistant & Translation.

Sync Preferences

The iCloud Sync toggle on your profile page lets you sync across devices via your iCloud.

Sync Scope

When enabled, in addition to preferences such as appearance and notifications, the app also syncs travel data such as trips, packing, expenses, shopping, journals, and bookmarks; turning it off stops all cross-device sync.
