AI Assistant & Translation
AI Travel Assistant
The sidebar's "AI Assistant" is a two-column layout: conversation history on the left and chat on the right.
- Streaming replies: answers are streamed out word by word; if streaming fails, it automatically falls back to a one-shot request.
- On-site source cards: replies include source pills for articles / forum content; click to open in your browser.
- New conversation: you can start a new conversation at any time.
- Replies support inline Markdown rendering.
Conversation History
- When signed in, conversations are saved and history can be loaded.
- Guests can ask anonymously, but history is not saved (the screen shows "Sign in to save conversation history").
Desktop always uses the cloud
The macOS AI always processes in the cloud. On-device AI models require macOS 26, and the desktop currently doesn't offer an on-device offline mode. In cloud mode, your questions are sent to the AI service provider for processing; see Privacy & Permissions.
Translation (Phrase Cards)
Translation in the macOS version is a built-in phrase card set:
- 5 languages: Japanese / Korean / English / Thai / Vietnamese.
- 4 situations: greetings / dining / transportation / emergencies.
- Includes romanization and can read aloud the local-language audio.
Translation scope
The macOS version has no camera translation and no real-time free translation integrated with Apple's translation framework; translation is currently limited to the built-in phrase cards described above. See Travel Tools.
