Home & Content Browsing
Home
The sidebar's "Home" section brings together travel article content. From top to bottom it includes:
- Maintenance banner: appears automatically when the core content site is under maintenance or unreachable.
- Announcement banner: shown when there's an active official announcement; it can be dismissed and may include a link.
- Hero image and a welcome title.
- Explore categories: a grid of category entries; tap one to see that category's articles.
- Latest articles: a grid of article cards (with the main image, author, and summary).
The toolbar provides Bookmarks (opens the "Library") and Refresh; you can also press ⌘R to reload.
Category Feed
Tap any tile in "Explore categories" to enter that category's article grid and browse the articles under it.
Article Details
Tap any article card to open the article detail page. The macOS version renders article content natively with SwiftUI (titles, paragraphs, images, quotes, links) rather than as an embedded web page, so scrolling and selecting feel more native to the desktop. The toolbar provides:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Bookmark | A bookmark icon to save the article (stored locally) |
| Share / Copy Link | Copies the article link to the clipboard |
| Open in Browser | Opens the original web page in Safari |
Reading any article is automatically recorded in your reading history.
Library (Bookmarks / Reading History / Recommendations)
The bookmark icon in the toolbar opens the "Library", which has three tabs:
- Bookmarks: articles you've bookmarked.
- Reading History: articles you've read.
- Recommendations: after you've browsed 5 or more articles, simple recommendations based on your view counts.
⌘K Site-Wide Search Panel
Press ⌘K (or "Search" in the menu bar) to open the floating search panel:
- Enter a keyword and press Enter to search; it searches both on-site articles and forum content.
- Results are distinguished by icon (article vs. forum).
- Tapping any result opens the corresponding link in your browser.
- Press Esc to close the panel.
Search results currently open external links in your browser and don't yet navigate to in-app detail pages. In-app navigation is planned.
