Privacy & Permissions
This page explains the permissions and data handling used by the macOS version.
Permission Requests
Each permission is requested only when it's actually needed:

| File access | When you add photos or import images | Choosing files you specify via the macOS file picker; the app only accesses the files you select |
iCloud Sync
- Travel data (trips, packing, orders, etc.) can be synced between devices via your private iCloud space, sharing the same container as iOS.
- Under "Settings (⌘,) → General" you can toggle "iCloud Trip Sync"; this toggle becomes available after you sign in and complete account setup.
- When iCloud is unavailable, it automatically falls back to local storage.
Handling Sensitive Data
- Confidential fields of documents are kept in the device's Keychain and are not decrypted on the desktop, showing only the public summary.
- Account data such as sign-in tokens is securely stored on the device.
Cache Management
Under "Settings (⌘,) → Cache" you can:
- View a breakdown of local storage.
- Set an image cache limit.
- Use "Clear All Cache" to free up space or force a reload of the latest content.
AI Conversations
In cloud AI mode, your questions are sent to the AI service provider for processing. See AI Assistant & Translation.
