Travel Map​

The sidebar's "Travel" section is a two-column layout: a native map on the left and a travel article list on the right.

  • Switch regions using the region pills at the top (country → city); the map focuses on that area.
  • Tap a map pin or pill to move the camera; a floating info panel shows the number of places in that area.
  • These map pins are built-in regions used for browsing and filtering content; to add your own pins, use the "Map Wall".

Map Wall (Activity Wall)​

The sidebar's "Map Wall" is a travel check-in community (Activity Wall). At the top you can switch between two views, "Feed / Map": the feed is a list of cards, and the map is a full-screen map with a large pin for each check-in. In the top right are "Footprints" and "Add Pin".

The Map Wall has been redesigned: the "Want to Go / Wish List" concept has been removed, keeping only check-ins, and social features such as comments, reactions, reposts, following, footprints, and achievements have been added.

Post a check-in (sign-in required)

Click "Add Pin":

  1. Search and select a place with Apple Maps, or drag the map so the center pin aligns with the spot.
  2. Fill in the place name and notes (both required), and choose "who can see it" (Public / Friends Only / Private).
  3. Add photos: drag image files from Finder or choose them with the file picker; before uploading, the photos' GPS and device information is automatically removed.

Interaction and details

Tap any check-in to open its details, where you can:

  • Like and react (tap to like, press and hold to choose a reaction), view the "who liked it" list, and comment.
  • Quote-repost to your own Activity Wall (with an optional comment) or repost to the forum.
  • Tap a photo to enlarge it in a lightbox (Esc to close), and copy the share link.
  • Tap an author's avatar or name to open their personal activity page (avatar, footprint stats, and that author's check-ins).
  • Your own check-ins can be deleted.

The "Footprints" page summarizes the number of check-ins / countries / regions / cities you've visited, a flag wall, and 9 achievement badges.

Guest limitation

Guests can browse the Activity Wall, but photos are blurred and locations are reduced in precision, and posting and interaction require signing in.

Trip Planning​

The sidebar's "Travel Tools" section gathers all travel tools; click the "Trip Planning" tool card to open the trip list and details. Most tools' data comes from iCloud sync data shared with iOS, and when you're not signed in or not synced they show an empty state with the prompt "Will appear after you sign in and sync iCloud".

Trip Details (Advanced)​

Once you enter a trip, you can use:

  • Split settlement: based on each companion's share, it turns shared expenses into the simplest "who pays whom" transfer suggestions.
  • Export PDF: generates a trip PDF page by page, saves it to Documents/Exports, and reveals it in Finder.
  • Collaboration: turn on the collaboration toggle to share a trip with others (sign-in required).
  • Photos: choose images from Finder using the file picker and upload them to the cloud (sign-in required).
Desktop creation is limited

On the desktop, most trip tools require signing in and completing iCloud sync before they have data; journals, expenses, and document files are mostly read-only views on the Mac (creation and photo editing are currently done on iOS). See Travel Records & Documents.
