Favorites and Offline Reading
Keep the articles you love so you can revisit them anytime — and since what you've read is saved automatically, you can keep reading even without a connection.
Saving Articles
- Tap the heart on any article card or reading page to save it; tap it again to remove it.
- Switch to the Favorites tab to see all your saved articles, each showing a cover thumbnail, category, date, title, and summary.
- Tap the heart on the right to remove an article from Favorites directly.
- When you haven't saved anything yet, the Favorites page shows a message to guide you toward reading and saving.
Syncing Through iCloud
As long as your devices are signed in to the same iCloud account, your favorites sync automatically between your iPhone and iPad. A "Synced through iCloud" note appears at the top of the Favorites page.
Your favorites are stored in your own private iCloud database, which we can't read. If iCloud is temporarily unavailable on your device, your favorites are saved locally first and sync once iCloud is back.
Offline Reading
While you're reading an article, YucDu automatically saves it as an offline version. So when you're later without a connection — on a plane or on the subway, for example — you can still reopen articles you've read.
Managing Offline Content
In Settings → Data → Offline Cache (titled "Offline Reading"), you can:
- View the list of articles saved offline, along with when each was saved.
- See the cache size your offline content is taking up.
- Tap Remove on an individual article to delete its offline version.
- Tap Clear All in the top right to remove every offline article at once (you'll be asked to confirm, since this can't be undone).
Offline content is temporary storage kept so you can re-read smoothly, and it's cleared automatically after about 14 days. Deleting it won't affect your favorites; the next time you open the article online, it will reload the latest content and be saved again.
